Consumers Rank Sacred Heart Highest in Quality
Consumers in Northwest Florida who responded to an annual survey conducted by National Research Corp. (NRC) have named Sacred Heart Health System as the region's top ranked provider of quality health care.
Sacred Heart's rating as the top health system for quailty came from an independent national survey of area residents conducted by the NRC. The consumer research company is an independent nationwide leader in performance measurement with more than 20 years of experience in the field.
Sacred Heart Health System, which includes Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast and Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, was rated by area health care consumers as their top choice for:
Best overall quality
Best doctors
Best nurses

Consumers in 190 markets across the country rated hospitals in their areas through the written survey used to develop NRC's Healthcare Market Guide. In Northwest Florida, residents surveyed ranked Sacred Heart as the leader in overall quality by a margin of more than 2 to 1 over competing hospitals or health systems.
The 2007/2008 Healthcare Market Guide is the nation's largest and most comprehensive study of its kind. No other study used to measure hospital performance and preference contains more consumer responses than NRC's study. Results are carefully tabulated and analyzed to ensure that they reflect the views of citizens in the local communities that are surveyed.
"Our selection for this award is a great tribute to all who work at Sacred Heart, especially our physicians and nurses," says Patrick J. Madden, president ad CEO of Sacred Heart Health System. "We continue to look for ways to meet the growing needs of families throughout our region. We have added the new Family Birth Place at our hospital in Walton County and we continue to recruit outstanding physicians to serve communities such as Destin, Crestview, South Walton County and Panama City Beach."
